Update as of 2-3-01

Well, we are basically complete. We have filled all the shelves, hung some of my Ensembles on the walls, and coordinated the accessories all around. The red color really sets off the white shelves and pottery.  I highly recommend trying a 'red room' in your own decorating plans.

Update as of 11-10-2000

The new full-wall display units are in place (that was a project in itself!) and a few dishes are making their way to their new home. Note the Riviera, Harlequin, and many assorted early HLC wares. It's getting there!

Re-doing our under-utilized 'formal' living room. This room started life in 1941 as a bedroom. I removed the original closet and set in a pair of French doors inside of a paneled wall area. I also replaced the single double-hung window on the front wall with a 65" triple-unit bay window. The shelf unit is built using salvaged lumber from an old laundry storage unit.

Below: Getting the walls and ceiling done following the installation of a bay window, french doors,
and the first of five new display shelves. Yes, the walls are RED! ..and
that IS just a temporary light fixture... ha

As of 9/24/00, the room is showing signs of completion. The painting is all done, the floor has been
refinished, and the furnishings are starting to make their reappearances. I have even set one
display shelf with a little Homer. That's my collection of HLC true-red accented dishes
on the corner unit. How many shapes do you recognize?
